This car is from a collection owned by very close friend that passed away recently. His wife has decided to sell some of his collection. The information we have is from when he purchased the car. The following statement is from ad when bought from previous owner. I do not claim any responsibility to facts, true or false. Car has been sitting in storage. Time permitting.. We will get to this one and clean up and take more detailed photos.
1964 Dodge 440 Hardtop Max Wedge Clone
Built by well-known magazine editor. Factory red on red. Rebuilt and fully detailed front suspension with stainless steel disc brakes. Rebuilt 1968 Road Runner sure-grip differential, narrowed 5 inch's with 4.10 gears. Sure-grip features moser axles, all new rear brakes. Hemi springs moved inboard. 727 torque-flite rebuilt strengthened with hemi internals, by a well-known torque-flite specialist. American torq thrust wheels 15x6 with BF Goodrich tires on front, and 15x10 with Mickey Thompson tires on rear. The block has been bored and stroked to 450 cu in. Featuring genuine 1964 Max Wedge upper-end, including 1964 crossram with late production big-bore carter carbs. Ported and polished heads with all correct Max Wedge components including original valve covers and air cleaners that have been chromed. (Dandy Dick Landy asked... ?Where'd you get that stuff, I've been looking for it for 20 years ??) The lower end features Competition Cams billet rockers, cam, and push rods. Ross pistons, Milodon Super Stock oil pump and deep sump pan. Doug Thorley Jet-Hot coated headers and exhaust system. The engine has been painted and detailed. Interior was completely restored with new upholstery by Legend Interiors and Just Dashes. This car was developed as the consummate Magazine-Quality Max Wedge car and showcases the finest parts, and workmanship in industry. This is a rare opportunity to own an Automotive Enthusiast Industry insider car. Again... Keep in mind... all that last statement was in the previous ad from previous owner.
